College and trade school is on the minds of many teens and young adults. For those still in high school and those in college our future career is one of the most important decisions that we will make. 2009 has been a crucial year that has caused many professionals to reevaluate their skills so that they may follow the recent trends. As a student you will also want to evaluate your own likes, dislikes and skills. As you do this here is a bit of information that may be of service.

Many potential careers are still available in tried and tested fields such as Information Technology, Manufacturing, Education, Healthcare and Business. The new opportunities in these fields are in constant innovation. For instance, add an advertising position in the healthcare or education division and the result would mean money. With a bit of education and imagination, one of these careers will make you big payoffs.

Though the previous years have been in turmoil as a result of a faltering economy and business empire meltdowns, and career opportunities have slowed down don’t count them out. Services in less demand today often become the services of great demand tomorrow as an economy recovers. As a young person that is still in high school or college or has just recently started in a career a slow recovery is often more beneficial to you than it is to the older adult.

Job specialists and government economists have estimated careers that will have most job opportunities between 2009 and 2019. While it is difficult for an older adult nearing retirement age to look ahead 5 or 10 years a young person has time on their side. These opening over the next 10 years are expected to occur because new positions will be created and also people normally retire or die leaving their job available for fresh graduates.

Job Openings for Graduates of Vocational Degrees, Associate Programs, and holders of Training Certificates (with the estimated number of job openings)

People who are graduates of vocational degrees are greatly in demand, though the economy falters, the demand for vocational careers are still in great demand. Those who have not completed a bachelor’s degree can always enroll in a vocational program that will enrich their skills to be successful in a blue-collar job.

1. Nursing Aides (1,000,000)

Job Openings for Graduates of a Bachelor’s Degree. People who are interested to land a job with a modest company should at least have earned a Bachelor’s degree from a respectable university. As the demand is great, the competition is also stiff. If you want promotion and extra skills and experience, there are schools that offer courses and training programs that will let you earn a certificate that you can use for future career prospective.

1. Elementary Teachers (550,000)

9. Systems Administrators (150,000)

10. Foreman/Construction Managers (150,000)

Job Openings for Graduates of a Master’s Degree. People who are interested to land a job with higher payoffs and satisfaction, a master’s degree should be earned. The higher your academic qualification, the higher your salary and position in a company will be. It is also a stepping stone if you want to advance your career. A travel journalist usually has the rare opportunity in meeting new people every day while at work. You can also have the chance of learning new things about new places and see your articles printed on page.

6. Freelance Editor. Some companies hire freelance editors and pay them to be in a place to make sure things are accurately written in a book or an article. If you have a great passion in looking for details, have the sense of researching methods and your command of the language is very outstanding, try this career.

7. Travel Author. Write your memories when you have visited a beautiful province in India. Describe your perils while crossing the Amazon, or simply share your journey in Hawaii. Start publishing memoirs and rake your own bucks while enjoying at work.

8. Freelance Travel Journalist. If you have the special knowledge in arts or culture, on rivers and canyons, of exotic places or food or wide basins or dangerous forests, why not sell your adventure?

Are you a teen or young adult that likes to travel? If travel is one of your favorite things why not consider a career that will allow travel. Here are ten hot careers most of which will require either a college or trade school degree. If you are looking for a career right out of high school that will allow for travel you may want to consider the military. Naturally the best paying careers will usually require an education beyond high school so keep this in mind.
1. Pilot

Whether for a commercial airline or the government air force, pilots are envied because they can travel across the globe almost every day and the salary is one of the best paying jobs today.

2. International Chef

If you have a nice talent for creating palatable dishes from different countries of the world, you can have a chance to expose your food creations through the help of international restaurants who loves to exchange their chefs for a bit of exploration and exchange of knowledge and skills.

3. International Journalist

There is no better career like an international journalist. You can visit interesting places, know different people, and at home, you are still being issued a paycheck. The best way to jump in this career is to enroll in a journalism class that offer international internship programs after your graduation. Most journalism schools in the United States offer this option.

4. Travel Journalist

Well, this is slightly similar to a career as an international journalist but this job is safer and lovelier. Your travel editor will never send you to Iraq or Afghanistan to write an article promoting a new travel park.

5. Military

In the military, you can be assigned to different camps and bases that your country is associated with. However, this is not safe but extremely exotic and exciting. Also the armed services provide outstanding trainings on different locations.

6. English Teacher

For individuals who are native speakers or at least have an outstanding command of the language, they are privileged. You can find a successful career with ESL program or English as a Second Language in different countries around the world wherein English is not a primary language. Currently, there is a great demand for English teachers in Korea, Singapore, Japan and China.

7. Foreign Service

You can also pursue a degree in international studies and seek a career with foreign embassies. A career as personnel of an embassy is rewarding and brings honor as a dignitary in a foreign state.

8. NGOs (Non-Government Organizations)

If you have that moving drive to change the world or simply want to travel while changing the world, why not jump into an NGO or a charity which is operating around the globe? In this career, there are numerous career opportunities for travel lovers and the free-spirit. Whether you are very knowledgeable in peace policies, conflict resolution, or humanitarian works, NGOs can help you.

The best way to get started is checking online sources which will provide you with different names and information of NGOs established throughout the United States. Also, you can seek employment in the United Nations headquarters in New York City and move to the ladder until you are promoted to a staff that can travel.

9. International Business Executive

Whether a CEO or a Vice President, being the top dog of a multi-national company has its benefits and luxurious fringes, you could be signing a 300 million-dollar partnership in India or visiting a branch in Guangdong.

10. Spy

Well, as a spy or a secret agent you can visit different locations such as underground London or a forest headquarters of artillery in Chile. But this job is dangerous although it is very rewarding.

In finding a job after graduation, which will you consider? The best paid jobs or the hot jobs? Which is more important when you want a lifelong satisfaction and careers success?

Actually, there is no best answer for this. The best job to choose depends on what your interests are. When you want a best paid career, you should always think about which of these jobs are projected for growth in the succeeding years. After all, the best jobs you can find will be those that are not only with high payoffs but are still “hot” or in demand for at least ten years.

So, let’s take a closer look…

The Best Paid Careers

The United States Bureau of Labor Statistics projected that the jobs with the best payoffs will also be in great demand in the coming years. These careers are:

1. Medical Aids, Physicians, Surgeons
2. Business Leaders
3. Lawyers
4. Ophthalmologists, optometrists, opticians
5. Sports Professionals
6. Information Technology Professionals
7. Sales Managers
8. Therapists
9. Systems managers
10. Network Analysts

Other high-paying careers that might be in demand in the following years will include: health managers, nursing aides, marketing analysts, dental services.

It’s very clear that the health care industry is not only a rewarding job that you may want to consider. However, let me warn you in choosing your job based on how much you need to make. Of course, most of us like making money. It pays the bills and buys material things. However, as the old saying goes, “money is not everything.” Think about it. Maybe your current job is a six-figure career, but does it give you satisfaction and your worth? Should we be doing something we don’t love?

If we can find a job that promises to be high-paying careers and you think that it is something that you will enjoy, that will be great!

But if not, you should carefully think of your choices and interests before you sign a job contract. After all, the best paid careers are those jobs that pay not only a high amount, but also provide satisfaction and happiness.

Another way to view things is to look for “hot” careers or those jobs that are now in great demand. These hot careers in the future will give you some ideas on what might be the best jobs for you. One right way to evaluate these careers is going through a list produced by the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics. This government agency ranks the best careers from 2009 to 2019 on the speed of the career growth.

The careers that the BLS has predicted to increase over the few succeeding years are:

1. Medical aides
2. Network Analysts
3. Surgeon Aides
4. Social Workers
5. Home Health Aides
6. Medical Transcriptionists
7. Physical Therapists
8. Software Engineers
9. Systems Engineers
10. Physical Therapy Aides

Confidently, most of us will see many job opportunities for examination among the highest-paid careers and hottest careers lists, if you are considering making a career move in the next few years. Obviously, you have to find careers that are important for you, your interests, aptitudes, skills, experience and education.

The best way to find a rewarding career is to use more resources, as competition is very tough these days.
